Caroline slipped into the art room like a ghost, her footsteps silent against the linoleum floor. Her wrists were bruised. Her body ached in ways she couldn't even articulate. And her mind was a battlefield of shame and confusion.
Her hands were shaking as she closed the door behind her, leaning against it for support. The art room was empty, save for the tall, handsome man standing at the front desk, sorting through a stack of student portfolios.
